Kenneth Jackson's bio

Mr. Jackson is a native of Newark, New Jersey attending Barringer High School graduating in 1975. While at Barringer Kenneth played on two (2) undefeated football teams, starting at corner back his senior years going 9-0. Kenneth was two (2) time All-City Wrestling champion at 148- & 158-pound weight classes. Kenneth later attended Seton Hall University in South Orange, New Jersey in 1976 placing third place in the National Catholic Wrestling Championships at John Carroll University in University Heights, Ohio at 158-pound weight class. Defeating Notre Dame opponent twice and Indiana’s wrestler as well. In the same season Kenneth placed 2nd in the Metropolitan Wrestling Championships in New York at 158 pounds. Kenneth attended Essex County College wrestling at 167-pound weight class with a record of 13-1, being named the teams Most Valuable Player in 1977. Kenneth joined the U.S. Navy in 1978 serving for 10 ten years obtaining the rank of First-Class Petty Officer (ABH1) aircraft handler. Kenneth boxed on the All-Navy Boxing Team 1980-1981, placing 2nd in the All-Navy Boxing Tournament. Kenneth was inducted into the Newark, New Jersey Athletic Hall of Fame in 2009 for his athletic talents and contribution to Newark, New Jersey’s rich heritage of athletics professional, college, and high school. Kenneth was hired by Norfolk State University in 1989 as a Campus Police Officer, assisting personal security or bodyguard for the late Dr. Harrison B. Wilson University President.

In August of 1990 Kenneth joined the Virginia Beach Police Department and working a variety of assignments to include:

  • • Uniform Patrol
  • • Precinct Detective
  • • Plainclothes Burglary Suppression Unit
  • • Community Oriented Policing
  • • Police Athletic League Boxing (P.A.L.)

Kenneth completed and was certified in Basic & Family Mediation from the Mediation Center of Hampton Roads in August 2000. Kenneth started working for Bryant & Stratton College in charge of the Security Team in 2001 and work there until 2014. In 2014 Kenneth graduated with an Associate of Applied Science in Criminal Justice form Bryant & Stratton College with honors. Kenneth was certified as an Anger Management Diplomat with G.C.S. Facilitators & Consultants in 2015. Kenneth was also certified as a Non-Productive Cognition Correction Coach with the Certified Development Coaching Group LLC. in 2017. Kenneth is currently employed with Serenity Home Healthcare as Quality Assurance Specialist for 2 ½ years. Kenneth is a license minister with Love Center Family Church in Suffolk, Virginia.
